On 18 October, a contest “Green Moneybox” will be launched for condominiums in Mariupol. The first one hundred condominiums can take part in the contest for collection of waste.

 

According to statistics, each Mariupol citizen annually gathers about 400 kg of garbage, which is disposed at the municipal solid waste disposal site. Moreover, 40% of such garbage consists of materials that can be sent for recycling.

 

If condominiums organize waste collection points as paper, plastic, metal, glass, they can earn money on sorting and delivery of waste.

 

The first 50 condominiums, which organize collection points, will receive 3 containers to collect raw materials, and the winners of the competition will receive energy-efficient home lighting.

The contest “Green Moneybox” is implemented by NGO Mariupol Youth Union in partnership with Mariupol City Council and Local Democracy Agency of Mariupol within the framework of the project UCBI II financed by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
