The Mariupol Development Fund signed an agreement оn social partnership with “Metinvest Holding Group”. From this moment “Metinvest” becomes a key partner of the Mariupol Development Fund in realization of projects that will be implemented within the strategy of the city development «Mariupol 2021».

The General Director of “Metinvest Holding Group” Yury Ryzhenkov and the General Director Cof the Mariupol Development Fund signed a new agreement. The City Mayor Vadim Boychenko, and General Directors of the Mariupol metallurgical plants Yury Zinchenko and Enver Tskitishvili attended the ceremony.

For the last 5 years, “Metinvest” has invested 245 million hryvnas into a social development of Mariupol. Since 2016, “Metinvest Holding Group” has formed a new approach to cooperation with local citizens. The Mariupol Development Fund will take on the role of the agency of municipal development. The non-governmental organization could control the realization of the projects more effective, and plan to attract different concerned parties to its work: small and medium business, national and international non-governmental organizations, media and ordinary citizens – the activists who show their active citizenship.

The founders of the Mariupol Development Fund look to cooperation with international and foreign donor organizations – United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), institutes of the system UN (UNDP, UNHCR, UNICEF) that help Ukraine to implement projects of regional development.

«Today, we move to modern standards of cooperation with local citizens. The Mariupol Development Fund aimed to become a kind of «think tank», namely the center for development of strategic programs that will improve greatly the life of Mariupol citizens and make the city more comfortable. This project is initial and allows us to evaluate a new approach to apply this experience in other cities. We are sure that exactly the cooperation between “Metinvest Holding Group” and the Mariupol Development Fund will bring results in decision of basic city problems», - Chief Executive Officer of Metinvest Holding Group Yuryi Ryzhenkov said.

The City Authority have concluded the agreement on social partnership with Metinvest for 5 years. Funds were directed into reconstruction of city hospitals №1 and №4, Leporsky park, purchase of modern trams and buses, restoration of railway bridge across Kalchik, microdistrict Vostochniy and the village Sartana, repairs of roads, schools, kindergartens.

«Since 2010, Metinvest has been an unchangeable partner of Mariupol. The assistance of the company is multimillion investments and hundreds of realized projects. When misfortune came in our city, Metinvest did not stand aside. Metallurgists rebuilt the bridge across the river Kalchik, Vostochniy and Sartana. These were real actions that were more important than simple promises. I am convinced that the cooperation of Metinvest with the City Authorities through the Mariupol Development Fund will be more effective», - as the Mayor of Mariupol, Vadim Boychenko, admitted.

First of all, Mariupol development consists in creating comfort conditions for living and working of citizens.
