What did you dofor your city and your country? Development of the civic education begins witha personal contribution in the improvement of houses and streets of eachresident. Mariupol citizens took part in the public discussion “The Concept ofthe Development of the Civic Education in Ukraine”, organized by the LocalDemocracy Agency of Mariupol.

 

The Concept is aroad map for development of the civic education in Ukraine for next years. The document includes an explanation of how the authorsdefine the civil competencies and vision of a developed system of civiceducation as an outcome of the project.

 

Teachers of schools,universities, art and culture communities, civic activists, social workers andNGOs concurred with the active discussion of the draft Concept in Mariupol.

 

As a result of thediscussion, Mariupol residents have formed their proposals, which shouldcontribute to the development of the civic education for every Ukrainiancitizen. These are legal knowledge, information platforms, feedback, informalyouth education, the introduction of the idea of inclusion and formation of asense of responsible ownership among people.
