A unique security system was introduced for our protection in Mariupol. Smart cameras will record the events in the streets, helping to counteract criminality, to monitor the situations in the communal sector, traffic conditions etc. Nowadays only four such projects have been implemented in the world. Mariupol will be the first city in Ukraine, where the program "The Safe City" is being implemented.

This is one of the directions of the development strategy of Mariupol, which have been discussed today at the strategic session on social security with participation of the city leaders, police and international organizations - OSCE representatives and DRS.

According to the Mayor Vadim Boychenko, Singapore has implemented such programs and today it is the safest city in the world.

"Our citizens must be confident that they are well protected. It is necessary to remove anxiety and to give people a sense of security that they can live in peace "-  this way the Mayor of the City described the main goal of the program.

According to the Chief Policeman in the Donetsk region Vyacheslav Abroskin, the program may perform up to 700 functions. It defines all kinds of emergencies and transmits the information to the operational measures to eliminate the consequences.

During the testing, within some days, 3 stolen cars and 12 cars with stolen / lost numbers have already been found with the help of smart cameras.

In general, the project required about 18 million hryvnias. 15 million hryvnias have been invested in the service equipment and the software system by the Donetsk Region. Now the issue of human resources is being solved. The negotiations on relocating the Donetsk Academy of Justice in Mariupol are being carried out.
