Innovations in education: teaching of the leaders of change

With the implementation of the education reform inMariupol, the training of teachers and school principals has started. Twenty-fiverepresentatives of the city's education system have passed the preliminaryselection for participation in the project “Become a new civil servant ofMariupol” and will be trained at the Regional Center of Training andDevelopment.

 

Seventy-five Mariupol educators will take part in theproject. Each of them will pass three stages of the training program, whichwill allow forming a vision of the future education.

 

“Each reform is a challenge. Today a teacher is notonly a mentor for children. Such person must become a leader for both studentsand a team; he/she must be able to think strategically staying one step ahead, alsobeing a good HR and financier”, - as Tetiana Bratchykova, the Director of theDepartment of Education of Mariupol City Council told, welcoming participantsof the project.

 

Executive director of NGO “Mariupol development fund”Tetiana Lomakina admitted that the best experts and speakers will be attracted aimingat training and education the future leaders of change in the field ofeducation. An international expert, professor, Director of the East EuropeanInstitute of Psychology "Ukraine-France" Irina Manokha is one of theexperts of the training course. She has been developed a training course named"Educational innovations: Modern technologies in the field ofeducation" especially for Mariupol educators.

“Our main task is to teach educators to take a cue inthe complex process of changes and to identify necessary tools and resources toachieve their goals. It is an invaluable experience which educators could putinto practice”, - Irina Manokha emphasized.

 

The initiative “Become a new civil servant of Mariupol”is implemented by NGO Mariupol development fund” in partnership with MariupolCity Council within the framework of the project "Ukraine ConfidenceBuilding Initiative" (UCBI II) with the financial support of the UnitedStates Agency for International Development (USAID).
