The Mariupol Development Fund Develops Cooperation with Humanitarian Missions

12.05.2016

The representatives of the Mariupol Development Fund participated in the coordination meeting to assist people living in the front line, organized by OCHA (the UN agency for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs).

The conflict, which has lasted for over two years, complicates more and more the humanitarian situation. People, living along the "boundary line" need food, shelter, water and medical care.

According to the results of the meeting, was made a decision to create an interaction group of the regional military and civil administration with international humanitarian missions. This cooperation will provide an additional opportunity to attract international donors and resources to solve the problems of the residents in the south of the Donetsk region.

The issues, related to Mariupol surrounding areas, are extremely important for the city. It is the prospect of decentralization and development of new areas of Mariupol. This project is included in the development strategy “Mariupol-2021”, which is being developed in partnership of the municipality and  the Mariupol Development Fund.
