03.06.2016

The NGO Mariupol Development Fund supported the idea of the Mariupol Youth Union to open a new public space for children and teenagers. Yesterday, the Executive Director of the MDF Tatiana Lomakina had a discussion with the Head of UNICEF in Ukraine Giovanna Barberis and offered international partners to participate in funding the project to build a children's digital library.

The project includes the equipping the children's city libraries with the search and navigation systems as well as tablets and e-books.

"This idea was offered by teenagers themselves. They are ready to take an active part in helping adults with preparing, equipping libraries and filling them with new and modern creative initiatives, "- said Tatiana Lomakina.

From her side, Giovanna Barberis said that UNICEF received many offers, but the initiative should be submitted in the form of application for their consideration.

Today, the MDF’s Committee on Culture, Education, Sport and Youth Policy, which includes the Mariupol Youth Union and the Children’s City Library System, began to draw up necessary documents.
